Kristi Lei is an Americana singer-songwriter originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, now calling Brno, Czech Republic home. Her musical journey began at 16, and over the years, her storytelling and captivating melodies have taken her across the stages of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Europe, building a diverse audience along the way.
After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, Kristi relocated to the Czech Republic, where she was inspired to record her debut EP, Becoming Memories. This move sparked a creative journey that continues to unfold as she draws inspiration from both her travels and experiences of life in Europe. In the summers, Kristi returns to the U.S. to tour, performing at festivals, music venues, wineries, and breweries, always bringing her distinct voice and heartfelt lyrics to new listeners.
When she’s not performing, Kristi teaches music at the International School of Brno, sharing her love for the craft with her students. She also lends her talents to several musical projects, including Band of Heysek, a soulful blues ensemble, Tilted Squares, a pop-folk fusion, and the Dishonest Fiddlers, a bluegrass band rooted in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Kristi's music is a blend of introspective storytelling and rich, emotional depth, drawing from influences in folk, Broadway, country, and pop. Inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Heather Maloney, and Sara Bareilles, her melodies have a way of lingering long after the last note fades.
